Butter Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • additional sugar, for coating hands

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add salt.
  3. Gradually add flour, blending it in to make a stiff, smooth dough.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Form dough into 8 balls; place balls far apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Place some sugar on a saucer.
  7. Press palm of hand into sugar, then use palm to flatten each ball of dough to a 3-inch circle, 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Bake in a 350 degree F oven 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  9. Leave on baking sheet 5 minutes, then loosen with spatula and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Apple Butter Pork Chops Ala Crock Pot

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbssmoked pork chops
  • 2 cups apple butter
  • 2 teaspoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1 teaspoonitalian seasoning
  • 5 red apples

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine apple butter, Italian seasoning and tapioca in crock pot.
  2. Peel and slice apples put in crock pot.
  3. Put pork chops on top of apples and spoon sauce over all.
  4. Cook on low 5-6 hrs or high 3-3 1/2 hours.

Reese’s Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate Chip Blondies

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup butteror margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups reese’s peanut butter and milk chocolate chips , divided (11-oz.pkg.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon shortening(do not use butter, margarine, spread or oil)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 350°F Grease 15-1/2×10-1/2×1-inch jelly-roll pan.
  2. Stir together brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar in large bowl; beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add flour and salt, beating just until blended.
  4. Stir in 1-1/2 cups chips; spread batter in prepared pan.
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean and surface is lightly browned.
  6. Cool completely; cut into bars.
  7. Place remaining 1/4 cup chips and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl.
  8. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 30 seconds; stir.
  9. If necessary, microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred.
  10. Drizzle over bars.
  11. About 6 dozen bars.

Peanut Butter Bars 1973

INGREDIENTS

    Base
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats(twenty minute type)
  • 1/2 cup margarine(solid type or butter)
  • Filling

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cupchocolate syrup (Hershey’s)
  • 1/2 cupsmooth peanut butter
  • 1 (3ounce)package cream cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. Base:.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°.
  3. Combine flour, brown sugar, salt, oats, and butter well.
  4. Reserve out 1 cup for the top and set aside.
  5. Press remainder into a ungreased 9-inch square pan.
  6. Filling:.
  7. Combine all well until smooth.
  8. Spread evenly over the base.
  9. Sprinkle the reserved one cup of base mixture over top of filling.
  10. Bake 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Remove and cool then cut into squares.

Creamy Peanut Butter & Jam Oatmeal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons crunchy peanut butteror smooth peanut butter (Adams)
  • 3 teaspoonsraspberry jam (Smuckers)
  • 1/2 cup water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Microwave oatmeal and water on high for 1 minute and 20 seconds or until the oatmeal just starts to "bubble.".
  2. Stir.
  3. Add peanut butter and jam randomly on top of oatmeal; microwave again for 20-30 seconds, or until the peanut butter melts.
  4. Stir and enjoy.
