Soy Burger Patties

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (12ounce)packagesoy crumbles (I like Morningstar)
  • 1 cupbreadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cupgrape-nuts cereal or additional additional breadcrumbs
  • 1 bouillon cubeor1package onion soup mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon saltor soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoononion flakes(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon parsleyor tarragon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoonMrs. Dash seasoning mix or your own blend your own blend seasoning(optional)
  • pepper, to taste(optional)
  • liquid smoke, to taste(optional)
  • vegetable oil , for frying

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix all ingredients in medium-sized bowl (be sure to crumble the bouillon cube); let sit for 5 minutes so liquid is absorbed.
  2. Heat oil in skillet.
  3. Form patties about the size and thickness of your palm; or, drop large spoonfull of mixture into oil and flatten with spatula.
  4. Fry patties on both sides until golden.
  5. Serve as entree or with buns.
